Fun at the hot rod shop
We have been heading to Horvath Hot Rod shop down in Spanish Fork for the last several Saturdays to check out the progress on the 1958 Thunder Pig. Zach likes to go exploring at the shop. Today Zach decided to explore the pile of tires in the back of the parking lot....

Coupon'n deal of the DAY!
It is that time again....SMITHS double coupon event up to $1! Any coupon you have Smith's automatically gives you the difference to make the coupon value at $1. So a $0.25 coupon during this event is worth $1. I have been slacking lately on coupon collecting but was still able to get a good deal on all of the above. Guess how much I paid for all of it?!
$3.97
Yes - only $3.97. Full price for all of the above was $10.76. Here is how I scored the deal:
- Colgate toothbrushes $0.99 each. I had two coupons for $0.50 off - Smiths gave me another $0.50 off with the coupon event...meaning I actually made $0.02 off this one!
- Can of vegetables $1.59. I had a coupon for a free can -- so FREE!
- 24oz Palmolive $2.59 each. I had $0.25 coupon - Smiths gave me $0.75 making my total price $1.59.
- Two Yoplait Whips for $1.20. I had a $0.55 coupon - Smiths gave me $0.45, so my total cost was $0.20!
- Six Yoplait yogurts for $3.60. I had a $0.40 coupon - Smiths gave me $0.60 and coupons loaded onto my Smiths card gave me another $0.40 off...making my total $2.20 for the six yogurts.
I wish all shopping trips could be this successful!

Logan is 7 months old!
He's more than half way to being a ONE YEAR OLD! Logan is growing up so fast and is such a handsome little guy. He is always smiling and giggling at us. He is eating baby food and loves pretty much all the fruits. The only vegetables we can get him to eat willingly are sweat potatoes and squash. Dustin tries to sneak him french fries when Jen isn't looking. He drinks about six bottles a day. He isn't SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT yet. He normally wakes up once during the night for a bottle.....we sure hope he breaks that habit soon. We pulled out Zach's old walker and Logan LOVES to use it. He can cruise around upstairs on the hardwood floors. He shows signs of wanting to crawl...but just gets frustrated he isn't moving. He is also working HARD on that first tooth. We think it will be here before he turns 8 months old.

Pioneer Day
We used Pioneer day here in Utah for another excuse to shot off fireworks ;) Our friends the Krotosky's had visited Wyoming to make sure we had a great show....we picked up some "smaller" items locally. We wanted Zach to see that not all fireworks were loud and scarey. He really enjoyed the sparklers....
And by the middle of the night he was digging into our fireworks stash trying to pick out what would be next!
Logan even wanted in on the firework action.....he liked the bottle rockets.
Here is Jeff and Kristin with some Roman Candles.

Kid Pictures
We were due for some kid portraits. Logan was in need of his 6 month portraits and we wanted to get some shots of the boys together. Zach wasn't cooperating - in fact we only got ONE picture taken of him before he started his temper tantrum meltdown about 5 minutes into the photo shoot. Good thing that ONE picture turned out okay!
Dustin ended up taking Zach outside while Jen and Logan continued with the photo shoot. Logan was ADORABLE as ever. Here are some of our favorites....
When everything was done - Jen went outside to find Dustin and Zach. Apparently Zach was having some fun of his own:
Instead of having pictures taken with his dump truck he wanted to play with his dump truck. There was some construction going on near the photo studio and he was playing in all that dirt. Apparently he was also making friends with the ladies coming out of the nearby Yoga studio as well.....Dustin was proud of that!

Outdoor Extravaganza!
The weather wasn't too hot today....and we needed to get some yard work done! Dustin mowed the lawn and Zach was so eager to help out. We have a future lawn boy in the making!
Wait...daddy's lawn mower looks much BIGGER and makes more NOISE than mine....I want to use daddy's....
After the lawn work we had to cool ourselves down. Zach got a slip-n-slide for Christmas from Aunt Sarah and Uncle Nick. We busted it out and set it up in the backyard on the side of the house with the slope. We hooked up the hose -- and the water was nice and cold. We were a bit worried Zach wouldn't want to use it with the water being so cold....boy were we WRONG! He couldn't get enough of it!
Lets hope Summer stays around for a while!

IMFT family picnic
Today our work hosted a "family outdoor picnic". It was suppose to be 97 degrees today - YIKES! I busted out the sunglasses for the kids....they both enjoyed wearing them. Check out Mr. Logan:
Luckily the people from work that organized the picnic got smart and had as much as they could under huge tents. They catered Goodwood BBQ, had ice cream, snow cones, cotton candy, kid games, bouncy houses, and of course a dunk tank! As we were getting unloaded from our car Zach immediately saw the bouncy houses (dinosaur themed) and that is where he wanted to go first....and that is where he wanted to stay! He wasn't too fond of the actual bouncy house, but he LOVED the bouncy slide. He felt so accomplished that he could climb up the backside which had the ladder and slide down himself. He was getting kind of bossy to the kids around him too ;)
After about 20 minutes we wanted to venture on to other things at the picnic -- but Zach only wanted his slide. We took him over to the game tent (meaning we wanted some shade) and he wasn't too thrilled. We made him fish up a duck, knock down some trolls, and attempt a ring toss.
Next stop was for some of that catered Goodwood lunch. I didn't get any pictures of that....but it sure was yummy! By now it was time to hit up the dunk tank. Jen's boss (up three levels) was taking his rotation in the tank so we HAD to try and knock him down. We also didn't get any pictures of THAT! Dustin and Jen both weren't able to hit the red target to make the boss fall in tank....but we did get Zach to actually "push" the red target...so the boss went down in the water anyways :)
Both kids fell asleep on the way home. We were laughing at the way Zach looked -- that is a sugar daddy in his hands. He felt asleep eating his candy!

At this point the fire department showed up. They got out everything for the kids to see and play with. We were proud that Zach took his time exploring the fire truck. He has worn his "junior firefighter badge sticker" all day -- he even made us put it on his pajamas tonight!

Petsmart
What better to do on a Friday night than to....clean the kids fish tank!
We lost about half our fish after the last cleaning a month ago (Dustin "accidentally" put too much chemical in the tank). So we decided to hit up Petsmart tonight to get some needed supplies for our cats and some NEW FISH!! Zach had fun checking out all the different kinds of fish. We ended up walking out with 7 new fish.
Zach always goes over to see the cats up for adoption every time we go to Petsmart. He LOVES cats......I am pretty sure there is some drool on his mouth at this point.
He decided that the cat gym would actually work form him as well -- part of the reason we don't own one of these!
Logan enjoyed the trip -- he was our official taste tester. He had to taste and gnaw on everything (except the fish and litter) we were purchasing.

Huh?
I stopped by McDonald's tonight to get Zach a happy meal. I couldn't decide between the nuggets or a cheeseburger for him...so I decided to get the nuggets with the happy meal and just purchase a cheeseburger on the side. The cheeseburger came in one of their small bags. I was sitting at stop light when I read what was on the bag...and my mind was baffled....I guess I need to read McDonald's bags more often!!

4th of July weekend celebration
We had a FANTASTIC 4th of July WEEKEND! Dustin's family came to town from Colorado (Glen, Jeanette, Jaren and Eric) -- and of course they drove through Wyoming to get to Utah....so the car may have made a stop at a fireworks store....and we may have had the biggest and baddest fireworks show in the neighborhood...for THREE NIGHTS!
The next morning (the 3rd of July) - Zach was so happy to see his Grandpa Gray...he didn't want to share Grandpa with Logan. Good thing Grandma Gray was around to give Logan lots of love!
Since the Lehi city fireworks were being shot of on Saturday the 3rd this year (Utah doesn't celebrate the 4th on Sunday...yes, messed up) we held our 4th of July fireworks party on the 3rd. We invited over friends, neighbors and extended family (Dustin has lots of cousins and aunts in Lehi). We had TONS of food -- thank you everyone for helping out! Jen made this "fruit salad" - it was GONE by the end of the night! Who knew cool whip was so good with fruit?
Our 4th of July party wouldn't be a party without the homemade rootbeer with dry ice!
The boys may have also found another use with dry ice........
In the evening the wind picked up quite a bit and it turned out quite chilly! Everyone bundled up outside in jackets, blankets, etc....we didn't want to miss out on any 4th of July fun....but it was the first 4th of July we could ever remember needed a sweatshirt/jacket/blanket!
It was a great time. Of course we had to REPEAT it Sunday night as well :) It was a bit warmer...but Zach was still scared of the loud fireworks. We were able to get him to stay outside and watch by sitting in the back of the 4runner.
They all rolled in on Friday night about 10pm. Our neighbor was waiting up so we could light of some fireworks (he had to work 4th of July night)...check out the haul:
