Santa Shots

Today was our Santa photo shoot.  Dustin is dressed up in the Santa suit, that is why the kids are smiling so big!

We were pleased with the pictures....we used one of them for our Christmas cards this year!  When we were done with pictures the kids got to each take a turn talking to the 'real' Santa and telling him what they wanted for Christmas this year.

Santa's reindeer were also at Thanksgiving Point for a visit....

Logan's Shave

We were all distracted.....Jen was answering a page from work, Dustin and Zach were putting ornaments on our Christmas tree. We didn't notice Logan was gone for a split second...but we did notice when Logan came waltzing back in the room with a big smile on his face. Further investigation found he had given himself a hair cut with Dustin's facial shaver and slathered hair gel on his head.  We didn't know quite what to do.  We couldn't get mad and we were fighting back the laughter.

So we decided to just cut off all the rest of his hair.  We leveled it all back to a #1.

Logan LOVED his new hair do....Zach was jealous Logan was getting a haircut at home.

His precious hair!  Sigh......

Oh Christmas Tree

It is our family tradition to chop down our Christmas Tree the day after Thanksgiving.  Some years it is cold and snowy outside, but this year it was clear and brisk.

We walked around for a while, looking at several trees and then we finally found the one we wanted.  It was a tall and fat tree!  Jen stood watch with the tree while the boys went and paid for it and grabbed someone to haul it out of the field.

The boys all showed back up in a 4x4 with a trailer...the kids were able to drive it!  Check out their faces.

Getting the tree on the top of the 4 runner seemed more difficult this year.  This tree was quite a bit fatter than other trees we have had....the branches extended down over our doors and partially over the front windshield!

We brought the tree home and got it up in the living room...trimmed the branches a bit (because it was fat!)...and slowly worked on decorating it the next few days :)

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving! This year we decided to fry our turkey....Zach was quite interested in what the turkey looked like, and to help dad out with cooking it!

Here is our turkey...before it was fried.  We had fun flapping his wings and singing.

We've been HIT!

Logan woke up this morning not quite himself.  You know when you just have that feeling that there isn't something right with your kid, but they can't tell you what is wrong?  I gave him some ibuprofen and headed of with our day - us going to work and the kids going to daycare.

I expected to have day care call me if Logan continued to not be himself....but they never called....so I figured Logan just didn't get enough sleep the night before.  When we picked the kids up after work, the daycare staff said Logan just seemed sad all day.  They tried to give him double snacks to make him happy but it didn't work.  Hmmmmm.  Then on the drive home he just sat still, didn't move, didn't say ANYTHING.  Hmmmmm.

Well - I ended up taking Logan to after hours at the pediatrician's office.  They said his ears looked fine, but his throat didn't.  So they tested him for Strep....and it came back POSITIVE!  Yup - two days before Thanksgiving and Logan has strep throat.  We picked up his antibiotics and some popsicles.  Nothing but rest and snuggles for this kid the next little bit!
