Getting ready for Fall

What a perfect Saturday to hit up the local pumpkin patch for some Fall (soon to be Halloween) decor! We always love hitting up Maybey's to get our pumpkins.  Thank goodness for Facebook - we learned today was their opening day!  Jen's parents were in town visiting this weekend, so they were able to come with us.

The boys power washed off the front porch and the pumpkins.  They will now reside on our front porch until after Halloween!

Getta Long Little Doggie

Today was "Western Days" at kindergarten for Zach.  He was able to spruce up his uniform for the event.  Zach has been learning new songs at school and the kindergarteners were going to sing a "western" song to the pre-school aged kids.  This song is one that Zach has been singing around the house for a couple of weeks now.  We love the chorus part, it says "yippee ky ey yeah get along little doggie".

Jen was down at BYU doing college career fair stuff for work, which meant it was a 'guys night' for Dustin and the boys.  So what exactly went on during this 'guys night'?  Apparently it was going to see the movie Planes in the IMAX.  What made this extra special?  They were the ONLY ONES in the entire theater!!

Want to be like brother

We were walking out the door to take the kids to school this morning and Logan says, "wait one minute" and he ran back in his room.  He shortly comes running back looking like this:

Logan decided he wanted to wear a tie, since Zach wears one as part of his school uniform.  We love this kid and his creativeness!

Backyard Fire Pit

We decided to roast some hot dogs for dinner tonight on our new propane fire pit!  The kids think this is the coolest thing ever.....

After the hot dogs we decided to introduce the kids to 'banana boats'.  They didn't quite understand why you mix marshmallows and chocolate chips on a banana...and then throw it on a fire....

But everyone enjoyed the banana boats after they finished roasting!

Pick up 'surprise'

Today when we picked up Logan from daycare he was wearing some very small pants....size 2T girls skinny jeans - this boy is a solid 3T almost 4T.  He had an 'accident' and apparently the staff conveniently forgot that Logan brings a backpack everyday with a change of clothes in case there is an accident.  Part of me is furious....but part of me can't stop laughing...

Lets just say Jen had a 'talk' with the staff the very next day to 'remind them' that the backpack he brings every day has extra clothes in it.

Claim to fame?

The company we work for - IM Flash Technologies - went through a website re-design over this year.  They really did a good job of talking with people in the company about what they enjoy about their job...and they only used people pictures from our employees on the website....they made it personal.  This website has been live for about a month now.  Now here is why you needed to know all this....

Jen was at BYU tonight with four other colleagues, presenting to a group of Chemical Engineering students on who IM Flash is and what we do and how Chemical Engineers play a role.  The whole thing lasted about 1.5 hours.  Afterwards the students come up and talk with us individually asking what ever questions they wanted.  Jen had two students approach her and say, "Hey...you are the one on the front page of the website!"

Um...yes...yes I am (as I try and avoid turning red in the face).  I don't think I EVER expected that to happen.  Now I need some cool come back lines......

Crossfit Pirates

Dustin headed to cross-fit with the Krotosky's tonight.  The kids just played together while the parents worked out.  Apparently being a pirate was the theme....
