Hawaii - Day #2

The only downside to traveling to Hawaii is the time difference....it IS NOT in our favor!  Hawaii is 4 hours earlier than Utah which means that no matter how late we tried to keep our kids up last night in hopes they would sleep in - they still awoke at 4am Hawaii time.  We tried our best to keep them in the room until at least 7am so they wouldn't wake up everyone else at the resort..but these kids wanted to get out and run around and explore!

The 'perk' of getting up so early - we always got to see the sunrise right from our patio.    The golf course looks so pretty....

There was an area of lava rock between our room and the golf course.  All the kids roamed over those rocks exploring and Zach came across a golf ball!

The next thing the kids found were slugs...and LOTS OF THEM!  Cousin London was catching the slugs by the cup fulls.  Zach decided to hold one.

London was not shy about putting slugs on her face...

Zach decided to follow London...

After breakfast we headed over to the Hilton Waikoloa Village for some snorkeling in their Lagoon.  It feeds directly in from the ocean and there is always fish and sea turtles just swimming around.  We figured this was the safest way for the kids to try snorkeling for the first time in salt water since there are no waves, the water is as calm as can be.

That is the Lagoon behind us....

The beach at the Lagoon was beautiful...very clean and enjoyable to walk on.  Zach loved it!

Jen's dad and Dustin testing out the waters....

View of the waterfall in the Lagoon while we were snorkeling...

The boys snorkeling right underneath the waterfall....

We saw lots of different kinds of fish and lots of TURTLES!  We would find a turtle and just follow them around to see where they were swimming to.  It was so much fun.  The turtles are HUGE.  We even found a turtle taking in some sun on the beach.

Look how close they would get to us!

We spent the entire morning at the Lagoon and learned that there is a limit to how much time your body can enjoy being in salt water.  Lunchtime hit and we decided to head back to our resort for some food and showers. Once refreshed we decided to hit up Alli Drive for a bit of sight seeing and to show Garrett and his family the beach we went to on our last trip where we found turtles.

Once back at our room it was time to hit the pool.  Logan had fallen asleep, so just Jen and Zach hit up the pool with the cousins.

The pool area is amazing at King's Land - why can't I have something like this in our backyard?
