Who knew?
Okay it just hit me today that we haven't received Zachary's birth certificate. It has been 8 weeks since his birth. The paperwork for his birth certificate and social security card were filled out at the hospital during our stay. His social security card arrived about a month ago - but no birth certificate yet! So I made some phone calls this morning and apparently when you have a kid and fill out the paperwork to create a birth certificate it doesn't mean they will send you a birth certificate. You actually have to request a copy of your birth certificate and pay for it. Go figure. I thought people ususally were given the actual birth certificate when they left the hospital with the baby! So needless to stay - $23 later (for two copies) we should get a copy of Zachary's birth certificate in 7-10 business days.

$23 for 2 copies - you will smile fondley when the next little Gray arrives and think back to how "cheap" it was, when Zach was born!
Yep! At least you realized it right away. We didn't until we were filling out Daniel's Preschool Application and needed a copy. I dug out all the hosptial stuff and realized we never "ordered" it. :-)
