Jen decided she wanted to try and get some pictures of Dustin and the kids jumping in the pool today and practice her camera skills. The boys were all over it.....here were some of our favorite progressions.
Here are some of my favorite single shots...

Wall Fixin'
Dustin has been doing a good job of showing the boys how to do 'guy stuff'. Today we had some wall repairs to do....random scratches and dents from our dynamic toddler duo. Surprisingly both the kids were WAY into helping out dad. Here is some of their handiwork....
Of course the day would not be complete without Logan hamming it up for the camera!

Foam Day
The City of Lehi had their second annual "Foam Day" event this afternoon. We didn't really tell the kids what we were doing, we wanted them to figure it out now their own.....
Luckily they had different areas for different age groups. That made it easy for all of us to enjoy time in the 5 & under spot.
Logan wasn't quite so sure about this stuff.....
Zach LOVED it!
I think all the boys had a blast!
Apparently the foam was pretty cold. The boys only lasted about 15 minutes and wanted to get out. They had fire trucks there spraying water so people could rinse off all the foam.
All done and still smiling!
And Logan fell asleep as we drove home :)

Alpine Splash Pad
Our kids love water in any way, shape or form. We kept hearing about a 'splash pad' in the city of Alpine...and finally got around to finding out where exactly it was. So after work tonight we ate dinner really fast and then headed out the door to find the Alpine City splash pad.
The kids were really hesitant to walk right in and start playing...until they saw that gun that shot water!
Afterwards they both wanted to cuddle up in their towels and lay on the grass in the park.

Wiring more HDMI
When we build our house six years ago we had two HDMI wires run through the wall so the mounted TV upstairs could have all the components in the room behind the wall. For some reason one of the HDMI cables stopped working about a year ago. Dustin has been festering over it this whole time, and was bound and determined to wire more HDMI - even if it meant ripping the wall apart and putting it back together. I guess having him 'think' about this for over a year did pay off, because Dustin and his brother Eric were able to find a way to wire more HDMI cables without touching the walls! They decided to remove the baseboards, but the wall out from where the baseboard was at, and run the cables there. Then they put the wall back and the baseboard back over it.....genius.
A couple of hours of work and you wouldn't have known anything was DONE! Now we can happily enjoy watching our DirecTV and Netflix with two working HDMI cables :)

Boy time in the Canyon
With some of Dustin's family in town - the boys decided to take a drive through the American Fork Canyon (it had opened back up since the Alpine fire had been contained by today). They grabbed some Burger King along the way...and let the adventures begin!
Logan apparently kept trying to find cool stuff in Uncle Eric's pockets.....
Hey....lets play in a fire pit!
Oh, lots of BUGS to catch too....
Logan and his Uncle Eric...hamming it up for the camera. Look how DIRTY Logan is - a true boy.
I thought this was funny....Logan getting out his own diaper because he knew he needed to be changed (a.k.a. he has a poopy diaper).
They kids wadded in the shallow part of the reservoir - and which of our two children decided to play in the mud?
So - Logan spent the rest of the drive and the sight seeing adventure in just a diaper. At least he would get a fully body tan this way :)
Just from the pictures brought back, Jen could tell the guys had fun just 'being boys' up in the mountains.

4th of July 2012
Every 4th of July we host a big party with LOTS of fireworks for friends and family in the area. Dustin's dad, and brother Eric were able to drive out from Colorado and stay for a few days. Since the party last year got to be so massive, we decided to keep the entire party outside. We also decided to invite all the neighbors on our street and make it potluck style. It turned out even better than we thought! We shut down the street - which was perfect because the kids could play and we didn't have to worry about it!
We had a great turn out from the family side and the neighbor side. Everyone enjoyed the company!
We also LOVED all the FOOD! Everyone brought their own meats to either grill or smoke and a side to share with everyone....YUMMY!
We had TON of ariel fireworks to shoot off. Boys of all sizes were having fun setting them off and lighting them on fire.
We had quite a mess on the street when we were done.....but it was so worth it!
At 10pm the city of Lehi does a fireworks show from Thanksgiving Point. We can see it perfectly from the front of our house. After those fireworks we had a great view of the fire still burning on the mountains in Alpine.

Alpine Fire
Fires seem to be the new thing this summer here in Utah. The is the third major fire near us in the past two weeks. First it was at Saratoga Springs, then Heriman and today Alpine. This one we got a pretty good view of it from our work.....
It is sad to see things like this. These mountains are what we look at every day at home and while we are at work. The conditions are just so dry out here in Utah this summer, any little spark (from cars, construction equipment, gun ammunition shells, etc.) has devastating results.
