busy busy day

Today was probably the busiest Saturday we have had in a while! We started the day of heading to Farm Country at Thanksgiving Point - today was "dairy days".

They had all sorts of stuff to do....butter making, chocolate milk samples, cattle roping....

cow coloring...

Ice cream making and eating...

Dad's horse racing while smacking a cow...

cow train riding...

....but most IMPORTANTLY - Zach saving Logan's toes from being licked/eaten by a baby donkey!
After our Farm adventure we headed to one of Dustin's co-workers house. They have an 18 month old son. We had a BBQ lunch and played outside for a bit. Zach loved exploring all over their house and in the garage.....apparently Zach has never seen a doggy door before....this is what he thinks they are for:

Now it was time to head inside their home and watch the USA vs. Ghana Soccer match. We had the game on the DVR and were able to "fast forward" some of the dull points....which was probably a good thing because the kids were getting restless for naps. We headed out the door once we found out USA lost in overtime. Zach and Logan both fell asleep during the drive home.

Our day was not DONE! We had a pancake and fireworks evening planned with the Krotosky's. We were able to let Zach take an two hour nap (much needed)...the headed back into the car with both kids and our pancake toppings (we were having a pancake dinner!). The Krotosky's live in Cedar Hills and this past week was the Cedar Hills Days celebration - the city had a fireworks show at 10pm that we could watch from the Krotosky's porch. Jen was a bit worried the kids wouldn't make it to 10pm for the show, since they are both normally asleep by 9pm...but the kids must have known something was up because they both stayed up until we drove home at 10:30pm!! Between dinner and the fireworks Zach had fun playing with Diego - throwing him the ball and such...

The Krotosky's had some left over sparklers from last year.....we tried to get Zach to hold 'em but he wasn't quite so sure....

Family shot at 9:55pm!

Sundays plans include NOTHING! We need to recuperate from our Saturday!
