Whirlwind day in N. Cali

Today was our 'whirlwind' day of activities that involved 57+71+61+113 = 302 miles of driving!  We kicked it of by heading from Jen's parents house in Roseville to Fairfield to tour the Jelly Belly Factory.  Zach asked us every day of this trip if it was the day we were going to see the Jelly Belly's....we were finally able to say YES!!

Here is our group shot as we started the tour.  We have the same picture from 3.5 years ago when we last visited the Jelly Belly Factory - Logan was only 3 month old during that trip!

After the tour the kids each got to pick out one thing to buy and eat (they gave us PLENTY of jelly belly samples).  Both Zach and Logan walked up and down all the aisle of goodies and both finally decided on huge gummy rats!

Yes, they did devour those yummy rats!  After we ate our packed lunches we headed off to Dillon's Beach.  It was a bit chilly - in the 70s, but that didn't stop us from having a couple of hours of Northern California Beach time.

The drive was beautiful...

 Our stop!

Dustin - catching a wave...

The boys had fun finding the stuff that washed up on the beach.

Garrett dug a big hole and the kids used it to make a 'castle'.

Grandpa Twogood!

The kids were going to town trying to dig that hole deeper and deeper....

After about an hour, Zach decided he was done.  He wanted to snuggle with Grandpa to get warm!

After Dillon's beach we headed into San Francisco to eat dinner and see the sea lions at Pier 39.  Jen packed the kids each a pair of pants and a light jacket all for just the trip into San Francisco.  Even with the long pants and jacket they kept complaining they were cold.  Dustin did a good job of cheering Logan up - making funny faces and taking pictures of it!

The perched Sea Lions...

We always eat at the same seafood restaurant at the Pier...

Yummy!!

After all this - it was time for the two hour drive back to Jen's parents house.  Quite the action packed day in Northern California!
